Deciding on a well pump is a good idea too, for then you will not die of thirst if your solar panel or windmill is out of work.

Hydro power is another source of energy that you can capitalize on. If your area has enough supply water you might want to choose this solution. An area near river is a potential location to take advantage of hydro power.

You can also try to combine several of the solutions above into one for maximum results such as wind power combined with solar power.
