Flowers- Do They Really Matter?

The flowers that you buy your partner can be very important for her but when it comes to the world they matter for nothing at all. There are many plants out there that would be dead without the help of creatures like bees and these include peaches and apricots.

There are so many plants out there that help out both animals and us and here are just two, that without we would certainly die.

Plankton

We know of over 50,000 species and this is just in the lighter parts of the ocean that we can see and although many humans do not see the immediate benefit, animals do. One boom of plankton can actually sustain billions of sea creatures. These plankton are mostly found quite near the surface of the water so they can allow light in which of course allows for photosynthesis to occur. Many people will perhaps never see the importance of this plant but I will say that half of the world’s oxygen is given to us through these plants. Without this plankton life would not exist, it is as simple as that.

Fungi

Many people really hate fungi simply because it causes thingsl ike athelets foot and a bit of a mess if it gets into the home but we wouldnt exist without it. It is this fungi that allowed the plants to move out of the sea and onto land as they formed a symbiotic relationship with the plants that still actually exist today. It also allows a lot of plants to obtain all of the necessary nutrients and water they need from the soil. These fungi will also work to clean up the remains of dead plants and animals and put the nutrients back into the earth, pretty helpful after all.

It is rather amusing that two of plants that people tend not to care about are just two of the most important in the world.

So the next time you are out buying your wife some flower make sure you remember what made those flowers possible. Birthday flowers via flower delivery are a great way to make someone happy on their one day of the year.

Help do your bit for the polar bears by visiting Polar Bear city!

Churchill is on the shoreline of the west coast of Canada. Over the past few years this has become one of the most sought over environmental holidays. However does this mean that it is threatened by the change in climate?

Churchill has become extremely popular and famous around the world, mainly because of the polar bears that travel inland during autumn. These polar bears head inland and invade local towns and villages such as Churchill to find refuge. The fact that there are so many polar bears coming to here, means it has adopted the name, Polar Bear capital of the world. This has helped boost the tourist industry around the area, and now tour operators offer Canada tours dedicated to this area, to show people the stunning environment.

Churchill is also a very rare area; this is because it is an Ecotone. When two or more very different environments are in close proximity, this is known as an Ecotone. Basically it stands on a border between three very different environments. To the southern region is the Boreal Forest, towards the north west you will find the Tundra like conditions, and directly to the north is the Hudson Bay area. This is one of the best locations in the world to see the Aurora Borealis. Not only does this area have all the se attributes, it is also home to the Beluga whales in summer, over 57,000 of them, and has a very extensive amunt of bird fauna that cover the whole area.

Churchill has become extremely reliant on the tourism industry, but how long will it be able to support tourists. If the environment experiences a harsh change then this area will become desolate, the animals will have to migrate somewhere else. This will cause the tourist industry to crumble. Canada holidays benefit greatly from this environmental phenomenon, but how much longer will it last. Alaska Cruises also circle round to this area, so maybe that holiday is better sooner rather than later.
