My Dog Won't Drink From The Toilet Why Am I?

After the water treatment is completed sewage is dumped back into our waterways. We are essentially drinking from our toilets. Some sewage treatment plants use biological nutrient removal,
feeding the sewage to a large mass of bacteria and other micro organisims. They eat the sewage and remove the nitrogen from the water. Most  cities however, don’t have such a system in place.

Over 50 percent of all pollution in our waterways is coming from agriculture. With Regan deregulation, came the large corporate food farms. Corporations who contract with small farmers to grow the chicken. Food Corporations provide the farmers with chicken, the feed and a one sidded contract. Claiming that they aren’t they responsible for their waste? Dog owners are responsible for their animals waste. They take no responsiblity for the fecal matter running down the river to the oceans.

Warning signs of a pending ecological disaster are everywhere in our oceans, fish, and frogs. There are a long lists of causes adding these chemicals everyday into our water ways. Mostly from cleaning and yard care products. The good news is that if we continue on the path we are on we will in all probability become unable to reproduce. The pcb’s are making fish both male and female and incapable of reproduction. Frogs the modern canaries of our world are being born males with ovaries, females with male genitalia. Nature is giving us our wake up call. Life without healthy water will diminish rapidly, estimates are we have about 20 years to undo the damage that has been done.

The EPA does not have the resources to keep up with all the chemicals being introduced in new cleaning products every year.  They are constantly playing catch up. This is our water.  They are unable to test our water for most of these chemicals. Science has not caught up with chemistry.

Think the EPA has got your back?  The Clean Water Act and the EPA literally had all there power stripped away during the Reagan Administration.  Regan put voluntary rules for the  polluters of the water ways to abide by.

I know this is very upsetting and we could all turn a blind eye and hope that somebody, anybody will do the right thing here. History tells me that we as a people cannot wait for somebody else to do something we need to take action and take action now.

How you ask?  I have made my own cleaning products for over a year now.  It’s simple to do and because they are all organic, I know that they do less harm to the environment.

Growing only using organic methods in my yard. I use only sea kelp fertilizer on my plot it works great! I have never applied a weed killer or insecticide. I have fewer dandelions in my lawn than the neighbors who do. Pests are not a problem, I assume the spiders do their thing. I am not trying to put myself on a pedistal. I’m trying to show you there are other choices, choose the right choice we all win.  We can make a difference together. If you would like to make your own natural cleaners you can find them on my blog .
